Why TRIS?

At TRIS, we partner with our parents to guide our students to be the best versions of themselves and reach their full potential. The journey starts with a deep respect for each child and creating a safe and nurturing environment where each child can thrive and build a strong foundation.

Respect For the Individual

Our community of nurturing, dedicated, and experienced educators begin with a deep respect for a child as a unique individual. We are committed to guiding the 'whole child' by supporting their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.

Independence

Independence is the cornerstone of our curriculum. We create opportunities for students of all ages to develop self-confidence and practice independence.

Hands-on Learning

In our classrooms, students are active participants in their education. They engage with materials through hands-on investigation and self-discovery and participate in individual and group discussions with guides and peers. We don't rush through the subject matter. This style of learning leads to a deeper understanding, appreciation, and connection to learning and the development of critical thinking skills.

Lifelong Learners

In our light-filled, child-centric, and beautifully designed classrooms, we prepare our students to become lifelong learners. We use flexibility, creativity, and thought while attending to their needs as unique individuals. Through personalized instruction, we foster their natural curiosity, instill a growth mindset, and teach them how to learn.

Setting High Standards

We seek to inspire a passion for excellence and to nurture curiosity, creativity, and imagination in our students. We set a high standard of achievement for the quality of thought, work, and mastery of content and skills for all students.

Empathy and Leadership

Through the relationship of student and guide, we facilitate learning, emphasize and model, and practice empathy, compassion, mutual respect, and kindness. We engage and guide students to develop leadership skills and become compassionate, capable, and confident individuals with a global perspective.

Education of the Heart and Mind

Before students can take advantage of a challenging education, they must discover their innate abilities and develop a strong sense of independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline. They must be willing to make and learn from countless mistakes, a natural step in learning. We prepare the hearts and minds of our students for this undertaking. With the belief that children can do amazing things, we create the space and conditions for each student to hone their strengths, work on their challenges, and succeed in those endeavors.

Focus on Personal Growth

Students collaborate, challenge, support, and learn from their peers and in keeping with Montessori philosophy, they focus on their own growth and the pursuit of their academic journey, aspiring for their personal best rather than being distracted by competitiveness at this foundational learning stage.

Character and Values

Our community consciously practices and models compassion, tolerance, peace, respect, and many other core values that shape character, allowing our students to experience and put them into practice. Our students, faculty, staff, and parent community are equal and active participants in supporting local charities and causes.

Community and Continuity

TRIS is a small private independent Montessori school with around 150 students and a community of dedicated staff members that place their students at the heart of everything they do. We have three teachers per classroom. At least one guide in the classroom has Montessori credentials from the MACTE and others have credentials in Education.

Your student will enjoy a strong sense of belonging in our nurturing, warm, familial, and supportive community. No one is lost in the crowd. The consistency and continuity of high-quality education and principles from Pre-primary to Junior High help our students develop into happy, well-rounded, and high-achieving individuals who share an internal sense of purpose and motivation.

“We selected TRIS as our school because of its Montessori approach to learning and development. Having spent their entire matriculation in the Montessori setting, we recognized the value of continuing in this method of learning. My children immediately demonstrated a sense of familiarity and confidence in the environment. As students, they both thrived in learning how to take responsibility and learn to be engaged in their own growth process.”

“My partner and I were interested in a Montessori school with some Spanish language included. We found TRIS through an internet search. It was the first pre-school we looked at - after touring and meeting with Leslie Hites, I did not need to look at another school. To find Spanish immersion along with the incredibly rich program TRIS offered, and the beautiful campus- we were thrilled she got a place there."
