Founded in 1992, The Renaissance International School (TRIS) is on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay in Oakland. Our school has won many awards thanks to our highly credentialed faculty and solid administrative leadership.

Who We Are

We are a strong, enthusiastic, diverse, and supportive community of staff and parents. We actively collaborate and share a vision of education that allows our students to reach their potential. Our school enrolls approximately 150 students from Toddler through Elementary (grades 1 -6). We pride ourselves in our extensive Music, Art, and Language Immersion programs. We offer French or Spanish immersion classrooms at the Primary level and trilingual immersion (French, Spanish, and English) at the Elementary level.

We seek enthusiastic and diligent candidates, preferably AMI Montessori-trained and legally authorized to work in the US, who seek to be part of a multicultural teaching team. Our ideal candidates are collaborators who enjoy being a part of a vibrant and diverse community of children, parents, and educators and want to focus on long-term teaching and personal growth.

  • English-Speaking Montessori Primary Guide

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic English-speaking certified Montessori teacher at the primary level. We seek someone who demonstrates a strong work ethic, embraces life-long learning, enjoys working in a team, and who embodies the Montessori philosophy. Teachers must have the ability to be flexible and handle challenges as they arise while maintaining a positive attitude. This individual will work in a bilingual environment and will work closely with a co-guide to lead the classroom.


    Core Responsibilities and Duties

    • Implement the Montessori philosophy and curriculum effectively to meet the developmental needs of children aged 3-6.
    • Work closely with your co-guide to create and maintain a Montessori environment that is clean, orderly, inviting, and conducive to learning.
    • Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom culture that values each child.
    • Plan and facilitate engaging lessons that promote independence, critical thinking, and creativity.
    • Create monthly lesson plans and maintain up-to-date classroom record-keeping.
    • Use positive discipline to guide children through conflict resolution.
    • Act as a model to the children in the classroom.
    • Support and respond to parent concerns or questions.
    • Educate parents on the Montessori and TRIS philosophy.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support the holistic development of each child.
    • Participate in school events and activities.
    • Adhere to all Community Care Licensing requirements.
    • Maintain up-to-date CPR, First Aid, mandated training and certifications as needed.

    Qualifications

    • A Montessori degree for ages 3-6
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Experience working with children ages 3-6
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills

    Compensation

    Salary is commensurate with experience. TRIS offers paid breaks, paid days off, health, dental, and life insurance.
