Adriana Zavala has been working at TRIS since 2013. She migrated from Michoacán, Mexico to the United States at a very young age with both her parents. She came to TRIS with a background in Child Development. She has been working with children since 2010. She is a proud mom of two children. She loves to bake and learn about photography, and she enjoys working with younger kids and admires their innocence and fun personalities.
Callie Harvey joined the TRIS community in 2012, shortly after moving from Canada. A Montessori child herself, she is at home with the approach. She obtained the baccalauréat diploma in French literature as a teenager. In college, she studied at the Sorbonne University (Paris). Callie holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Bryn Mawr College (Pennsylvania) and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Leiden University (in the Netherlands). She uses Dutch, French, Hebrew, Russian, and Spanish in different capacities in her life. Her AMI 3-6 Diploma is from the Montessori Teacher Training Center of Northern California. During the 2020 - 2021 academic year, Callie is training for the AMI 0-3 Diploma at the International Montessori Institute in Delft, the Netherlands. She is honored to guide TRIS' online primary pod remotely!
Clarissa Lopez is our English Montessori guide for Oak Roots Class. She completed her B.A. in Multidisciplinary with a concentration in Early Childhood education from Biola University. Clarissa also has a Master’s in Teaching with a Special Education Concentration from Biola University. Prior to coming to TRIS, Clarissa was a T-K & Preschool teacher at a Montessori school in Newport Beach, CA. Clarissa has been with TRIS since 2021.
Erika Zavala was born in Santa Clara, CA. She lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico for most of her childhood and lived in northern California all of her adult life. Erika is the Spanish-​speaking assistant in the Primary. She has an Early Childhood background and experience in Family Day Care. Erika has worked with children in various capacities from ages 0-6 years old. Erika has been working in The Renaissances International School (TRIS) since 2009. Erika enjoys to dance, play soccer, camping and spending time with her daughter who will be attending TRIS in 2016.
Eva Enriquez is a native from Spain. She holds a BA in Journalism and a BFA in Painting. She has been a teaching artist for over eleven years in a variety of settings from adults with special needs to Elementary public schools. She understands art as a way to engage children's interests, develop motor skills and self-expression.Eva joined TRIS in 2018 and got certified as a AMS Montessori guide for Primary (three to six years old) in 2020.
Hemi Shah is an AMI Montessori Guide from Montessori Northwest. She completed her Primary training for three to six year olds under Ms. Polli Soholt and then joined TRIS in 2020. She holds a Master's in Science from Rutgers University.
Katrina Reyes was born and raised in the Bay Area and joined the TRIS community in 2017. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of San Diego. Katrina received her AMI Montessori training and certificate for ages 0-6 from the Montessori Institute of San Diego in 2011. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and reading.
Maritza Hurtado was born in Oakland, California. In 2006, she went to Mexico and El Salvador to work with underprivileged children. This spurred her interest in education, and she went on to pursue her Early Childhood Education units from the Montessori Teacher Education Center, San Francisco Bay Area. She is also working towards her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. She came to TRIS in 2014, and currently works as a Spanish-speaking assistant. In her spare time, Maritza enjoys reading, photography, and music.
Nora Jimenez has a B. A in Spanish Language from the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. She was in charge of the reading program in a K-12 private school in Mexico. Nora worked as a Spanish instructor at a private school in San Leandro before joining the TRS team in 2008. She took a Classroom Leadership course at The Montessori Foundation and a Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Course at Montessori Teacher Education Center of San Leandro in 2009. She started the primary Montessori training 2015-2017 at the Montessori Northwest School in San Francisco. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters.
Priscilla Vazquez-Medina was born and raised in the Bay Area. Her family is from Mexico. Priscilla has a background in Child Development as well as training from The Montessori Teacher Education Center San Francisco Bay Area (AMS). She is the Spanish assistant at the primary level at TRIS who enjoys the Montessori philosophy. She has been a part of the TRIS community since winter of 2015.
Sandra Navarrete obtained her BA degree in Spanish Language, Hispanic Literature and Culture from SUNY (State University of New York) College at Old Westbury. Sandra has always looked forward to working with children on immersive language instruction. One of her memorable teaching experiences involved a trip to her native country of El Salvador, where she volunteered her time as a substitute English teacher at an elementary/middle school. Prior to teaching at The Renaissance School, Sandra was a Spanish teacher for a non-profit and she is excited to have joined the Renaissance School team in November 2015.
