Scott Long joined the TRIS family with more than 25 years of professional experience developing and implementing physical education programs for children of all ages and abilities. Prior to joining TRIS, Scott spent 9 years developing and implementing a Montessori-based physical education curriculum in Washington, DC at Aidan Montessori School (an AMI-accredited Montessori school of more than 50 years). He took his previous 15 years of teaching experience in the Berkeley Unified School District and enmeshed it with Montessori pedagogy creating a dynamic outdoor environment and physical education program that not only honors the Montessori “way,” but is also inviting and exciting for his students. Scott is a strong and passionate motivator of others and has special ability to encourage and build on each child’s confidence and pleasure in physical activity. During the past year, Scott has been expanding his breadth and depth of various outdoor activities through his work as a Lead Instructor with Trackers Earth in Berkeley. Scott has been at TRIS since 2014.
