Callie Harvey joined the TRIS community in 2012, shortly after she and her family moved to the Bay Area from Canada.  She attended a Montessori primary program as a child and is at home with both the materials and the approach.  She has lived in France as a Vivre Sans Frontières exchange student who obtained the baccalauréat diploma in French literature and as a college student who studied at the Sorbonne University.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Her AMI Primary certificate is from the Montessori Teacher Training Center of Northern California.  In addition to French, she understands Spanish, some Dutch, and some Russian.  One of Callie’s favorite aspects of working at TRIS is collaborating with the wonderful families and the inspiring faculty.  Teaching French pastry camp over the summer is a definite perk, too!

Boa Xiong is an AMI Montessori guide from Detroit, Michigan. She completed her Primary training at the Montessori Institute of San Diego. She holds a B.A.A. in Fashion Design and Merchandising from Central Michigan University as well as, a Masters of Education in Montessori education from Loyola Maryland University. Boa worked as an assistant designer in New York City and an English teacher in Thailand before joining TRIS in 2016. In her free time, she loves to read, sew, and occasionally snowboard after a good snowstorm. Food is also a great love! Please feel free to send her any great recipes you have.

Maya Von und zur Mühle is a French teaching assistant from Alsace, France. She grew up speaking English, French and German and holds a BA in Liberal Arts with a major in English Literature from King’s College London. Previously, she has worked with children on a volunteer basis at Acorn Woodland Elementary during her semester abroad at the University of California, Berkeley and at the Children's Center in the Dunkirk Refugee Camp in the summer of 2016. She joined TRIS in September 2017.

Beatriz Zavala was born in Mexico and raised in Napa California. She is Montessori Guide. She joined TRIS in 2015. She has a background in office and business administration since she graduated from Napa Valley College in 2004. Working as a Montessori school administrator she became interested in the Montessori Philosophy and went to the Montessori Institute of Advance Studies in Castro Valley, California to get her AMS Teacher Credentials in Montessori Early Childhood in 2012. She has also combined her administrator and early childhood experiences and holds a licensed provider for a small family home day care. Since Beatriz became a Montessori guide, she implemented the philosophy at home with her three boys, and she has never been more proud and happy to see how independent her boys have become. In her free time, she enjoys painting and singing and she loves to go camping with her family.
